The first step in leveraging the Explorer is determining what and how much data we want to look at. You can do this by selecting pre-made templates.

The Single cohort starter template will give you quick glimpse of the data for a study. You can optionally filter the data. For example, to see only patients who were responders to a drug, you could filter based on a response_to_drug trait from your clinical metadata.

The Two cohort comparison starter template allows you to split your data set into two cohorts based on your clinical metadata.

The AI-generated cohorts starter template allows you to give natural language instructions, which our AI agent will use to suggest cohort configurations. You will then have the ability to confirm those selections before submission. Here are some examples:

• “Show samples from patients diagnosed with Mycosis Fungoides”
• “Compare patients by disease status”
• “Compare responders vs. non-responders for samples from all female patients”

Once you select a starter template, you will see additional dropdown options.
