Overview

Throughout the platform, the Copy Link button will be replaced with the Collaborators Menu component. The purpose of this new component is to allow you to share your current view with others through the platform, rather than copying a link to share via external channels. The popup modal includes a button to copy a link to share externally if you choose to.

NOTE: This component will only be visible to group admins or group editors. Without these criteria, users will only see the Copy Link tooltip. Read Sharing Capabilities for more details.

Users are able to search for collaborators by username, or enter the email of the person they wish to share their view with. Users must select a group that they wish to add the user they are tagging, in the case that the tagged user cannot currently view the study. Once the username/email and group are chosen, a share button will appear on the bottom right of the modal.

Once the sharing button is clicked, an in-app notification will be sent to existing users that will take them to the exact view you intended:

Group Admins

Group admins will be able to share instances of the platform with everyone, both users on and off the platform. (Read Tagged Users for what happens on a tagged user’s side). Group admins also have a setting on the group manager page that allows them to grant permission to group editors to share content with people outside of group(s) that can view the study (since viewing a study is not possible without an individual being part of a group that contains it). Editor sharing is disallowed by default.

In the Group Manager page, the editor sharing switch appears upon clicking the “Edit Members” button (in black bounding box above). The switch is shown here in the “enabled” setting, allowing all group editors to share content with non-group members. This switch can be flipped at any time.

Sharing Capabilities

Group admins/group editors with sharing permissions:

Group admins and group editors with sharing permissions, will have the exact same sharing capabilities with the Collaborators Menu modal. When tagging a collaborator via username, the dropdown menu will contain the usernames of everyone in every group the user is part of on Enable Medicine.

If the user wishes to share via email, they can enter the email of anyone, both on and off the platform, to view content.
